Webexpenses, an expense management and invoice processing provider was founded in 2000 in the UK. Since then it has grown into a major player within the SaaS market and now has offices in Austin, Texas and Brisbane, Australia. Webexpenses main objective is to enable businesses to be more efficient by removing the need for manual processes and improving spend visibility.

Back in 2020, Webexpenses simplified their performance management process and transitioned from an annual appraisal to a quarterly based review. Melanie Guy, Head of People at Webexpenses, said “This change mirrored how we measure other business functions – not just how we measure our people’s performance”.

Once the process changed, Webexpenses’ People Team had planned to fit this into an existing performance management module. However, the existing functionality did not fit within the new requirements and as a result, Webexpenses continued to use a paper based method. This became a very time consuming approach.
